These are the "Pack's" Meetings & Events. Den meetings are scheduled separately by Den Leaders. Each boy is a member of the Pack and a specific Den. Not shown on the Pack calendar:
- Den Meetings: Set by Den Leader, at school after school, usually 1 hour meeting, 2-3 times a month. Den meetings include games, crafts, field trips, and the all-important snack! Den Leaders should post den meeting schedule on Den's Home page.
- Popcorn Fundraising: Sales throughout October. Families can sign up for 1 or 2, 2-hour slots at the Den's booth at Weston Town Center. (Coordinated to give all boys a booth opportunity.)
- Pinewood Derby Cars: Given to cubs at December Pack meeting. Can do entirely at home, or at a workshop as a den, or attend a Pack workshop on a January Saturday to cut out the car shape. Will still require work at home.

posted 01/26/2010 NOW is the Time to Make SUMMER CAMP Plans
(Emailed Pack-wide 1/26/2010)
2 types of Summer Camp: Day Camp, or Resident Camp, or can do Both.
See "SUMMER CAMP" at Pack 75's Website
CUB SCOUT RESIDENT CAMP
While it is “real” camping overnight, Cub Scout Resident Camp fits right in with Dad’s (or Mom’s!) schedule. It is 4 full days & 3 nights scheduled over a long weekend (Thur-Sun) in August. Standard tents on wood raised platforms with established support facililities (including hot showers) at Camp Sequassen keep everything quite civilized. We have an experienced core crew looking for new campers and are targeting August 12-15, 2010.
ASKING 100% of the Pack to complete the Interest Survey by clicking here, just to indicate the level of interest in Resident Camp: "Interested," "Maybe," or "Not Interested." There's no commitment. You can also change your mind later. Looking for indicators before we reserve the campsite on 2/4.
Each cub and adult partnership costs as little as $270 (2 people, 4 days each) with discounts available for siblings, and additional adults. Some of the BEST PARENT/CUB MEMORIES are MADE AT CUB CAMP!
Check out details for 2010 Day Camp at our website, or go to CT Yankee Council's site for Cub Resident Camp.
CUB SCOUT DAY CAMP
Cub Scout Day camp is always a great value! (In 2009, the week fee was $160 with a second week only $100.) Scout sibling discounts are offered too. Pack 75 has usually had a group of 10 or so attend the week at Camp Hoyt. If you’re looking for a reference, you can contact
or
, or C. Edwards-- leaders who’s boys have gone in the past. There are special discount rates for volunteers too. (Day Camp is for cub scouts and does not require an Adult Partner.) The week in Redding at Camp Hoyt is August 2-6 this year.
Check out details for 2010 Day Camp at our website, or go to CT Yankee Council's site for Cub Day Camp.
CAMPERSHIPS are available for both DAY CAMP and RESIDENT CAMP.
Click on our SUMMER CAMP page for more information on all of the camps and Camperships.
Don’t forget: CLICK HERE FOR THE INTEREST SURVEY (by 2/3/09!)
(NOT a commitment. NOT a registration.)

posted 01/03/2010 Happy New Year to all Pack 75! I've enjoyed my break, and hope you've been able to unplug these past couple of weeks as well. (I have refused to hit you all with email over "our" vacation!)
#1 THANK YOU to ALL Pack 75 Families who attended December's Pack Meeting 12/12/09. Around 25 families also brought cakes which were auctioned and raffled off. 100% of the funds raised, or $869, was donated to the Weston Warm-Up Fund. Thanks also to the managing den, the Vikings (Betsy Klein), and to our auctioneer Chris Aguas.
#2 The Pack's 2009-2010 Calendar has been on the Pack's website homepage since September at htttp://www.WestonPack75.org. As a reminder only:
This month, January, there is no Pack meeting for 2 reasons. Most will be wanting to attend Camp Jewell 1/22-24. (Registration and payment form coming out separately- due 1/15.) Boys will also be working on their Pinewood Derby Cars on at least one other weekend if they chose to attend a workshop at Larry L's (schedule coming out this week of 1/4.)
Next month, February, Pinewood Derby check-in is Friday night 2/5 followed by Saturday 2/6 Race Day. There is no other February Pack event scheduled because of the winter recess. Boys will be busy either at home or in their dens completing the requirements to earn their rank badges which are awarded Sunday, March 14 at the Blue & Gold Banquet. (All requirements for rank advancement should be completed and reported to your den leader by 3/1.)
Cubbing usually slows down after the Blue & Gold Banquet in March. Some dens may altar their meeting frequency. In April, there is another school break and the Pack's monthly event is participation in Green Up Day (probably 4/24.) Usually dens meet at a convenient time for it's den members and clean-up a designated location in Weston for about an hour. May 31, the Pack marches in the town's Memorial Day Parade. We end the year with a bang Saturday June 12 with our annual picnic and campfire pack meeting up at Camp Hoyt in Redding.
Yes-- over the summer, there is Cub Scout Day Camp. Council sends information on this directly to all cub scouts and registration is directly with them. It's a great camp at a great rate.
Yes-- there is Cub Scout Resident Camp (4 days & 3 nights with a parent over a long weekend- usually in August) at Camp Sequassen and Pack 75 will be trying to get commitments from membership throughout February so that we can once again have our own Pack 75 campsite (Camp Royalwood). Information will be sent out.
#3 Senior Webelos-- ALL 5th graders can cross over into a boy scout Troop at our Blue & Gold Banquet. Cross-over is independent of any awards. I personally encourage all boys to cross over and try Boy Scouting, at least through Summer Camp (July 4-July 11 for Troop 788.) Right now, the boys are "ready" to advance beyond cubbing, to advance to a different type of program-- my own son is "ready" for something different. The game changes and an assessment of future participation in scouting should be based on true "boy scouting" experience (not cub scouting.) Boys crossing over to Weston's Troop 788 will be meeting on Monday nights for the rest of the school year beginning 3/15, 7:00-8:30pm at Norfield Parish Hall. (Troop 788 will be meeting with all SW parents and Webelos on PWD race day, and the boys will be invited to attend a Troop 788 meeting in February as well so that you can interface directly with Troop leadership.)
#4 Leadership. Pack Chair R. Phillips has already send out the agenda for the first Pack Committee and Pack Adult Leader Meeting this year (joint) (Wed. 1/6, Library, 7:30pm). We'll be setting details for Pinewood Derby and pricing for Blue & Gold etc. New leaders and officers should be transitioning in over the next 2 months.

posted 11/02/2009 Many Pack 75 families have sons and daughters in other scouting organizations and while not imposing-- we try to spread the word. You can bet these folks probably bought at least one can or box of popcorn during our Pack fundraiser this fall! (Below is the information that has been forwarded to me at this time. Trying to balance use of our website. If you know of another scouting opportunity to add to this list, please let me know and I will update.)
Girl Scout Cadette Troop 50488 is baking pies, muffins, and applesauce-- delivered fresh to your door on Thanksgiving Day! Click here for the attached order form for all information. Due 11/20! (for the record...not my daughter's troop! KS)
Boy Scout Troop 788's annual fundraiser of holiday wreathes & trees is kicking off Election Day with pre-orders. Order your wreathes & trees in advance for pickup or delivery in December (5th-6th and 12th-13th). Click here for their wreathe & tree pre-order form. FREE TREE DELIVERY TO WESTON RESIDENTS!!! (It's a great way to be sure and get the sizes and quantities that you want!) (This has historically been the Troop's sole fundraiser and proceeds are used to purchase Troop equipment like tents, stoves etc.)
